Fruit Tree Project

Hudson Fruit Tree Project

A local initiative making use of valuable and neglected food sources,
while helping people gain access to nutritious and healthy foods,
thereby bringing the community closer together.
This project aims to reduce food waste in our community,
by simply harvesting the leftover fruit from your backyard!
Hudson homeowners with established fruit-bearing trees are the foundation for the project.

How it works

As the season unfolds, volunteers from the Hudson Food Collective help to harvest the fruits of participating fruit tree owners. One third of the harvest is returned to the owner; one third split between the volunteer pickers; and one third is transformed into pies and preserves to be sold to support the running of the project.

How to Get Involved in the Program

Reduce food waste,
feed people in your neighbourhood and
discover a whole new facet of your community!

Regenerative agriculture provides answers to the soil crisis, the food crisis, the health crisis, the climate crisis and the crisis of democracy.
