Celebrate 10 Years of Community Impact:
Become a Core Supporter of the HFC!
Dear friends, neighbours, and all who care about healthy food and environments,
Autumn 2024 marks ten years of evolution for the Hudson Food Collective, continuously fulfilling our mission to build knowledge, skills, and relationships around food that is ecological, healthful, and just. We have held workshops and film screenings, organized community discussions, built networks within local food and agricultural communities, and developed local food projects.
Our biggest project is the Hudson Heartbeet Community Farm, a local, small-scale, diversified organic vegetable farm, engaging hundreds of people annually since 2017. It serves as an integral part of our mission to teach about agriculture and growing vegetables, to encourage buying local organic produce, and to build community resilience. Many dedicated people have taken part in growing over twenty-five tons of organic vegetables, supplying produce to customers, volunteers, and the food bank. The farm itself has become a place for our community to gather – where networks, friendships and even love have bloomed!
I am humbled by the number of people who have been part of growing this organization. Throughout the last ten years, learning, organizing, and building projects, I have met so many people who are passionate about food and agriculture. Again, and again, it is reinforced that food connects us all to ourselves, to each other, and to the Earth. Thank you to each of you who are receiving this message - it means you have somehow engaged, even in a small way, with the HFC along the way.
We are excited to launch our first-ever Core Support Campaign! The goal of this campaign is to build the financial stability that nonprofits like us need to continue to address the world’s problems.

If you value healthy, sustainable food and agriculture, and if you support the development of networks, projects and programs to build healthy, resilient local food systems here in the Hudson/Vaudreuil-Soulanges/Montreal regions and beyond, then here is one way to be part of the work we are doing:
Monthly donations*: Provide essential, steady support to help us plan and enhance our programs. Even a very small amount makes a big difference over time.
Annual or One-Time donations*: Offer a boost, allowing us to invest our energies in key projects and improvements that advance our mission.
It is hard to deny that good food is at the center of communities that are happy, healthy and ecological -- and that all three of those qualities are of utmost importance. The way we, as societies, grow, distribute, and eat food can either be incredibly detrimental or beautifully regenerative. In these uncertain times when there are many compounding environmental, medical, and societal crises, I strongly believe that focusing on healthy food systems as foundational is of critical importance for a liveable future.
I know that with your support, we can keep building and strengthening amazing community projects for a better world.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to become one of HFC’s core supporters.
With immense gratitude,
Robyn Rees

*Please note:
(1) Although we are a registered non-profit organization, we do not have charitable status. This means we are not able to issue Charitable Donation Receipts for tax purposes. (We have, however, started taking the steps necessary to apply for charitable status.)
(2) On the platform we are using for this campaign (called Zeffy), you can choose the amount of processing fees that you are willing to pay using the dropdown menu (you can even choose to lower the amount to $0).
